Stuart Bingham was crowned Masters champion for the first time following a stunning 10-8 win over fellow Essex potter Ali Carter in the final, with the 43-year-old getting his hands on the Paul Hunter Trophy at the end of a fabulous week of snooker.

But while the sport’s most prestigious invitational event may be over for another year, its conclusion gives us a chance to reflect on some of the tournament’s stand-out moments, with the world’s top stars providing several moments of quality.

Among the 13 nominated shots of the tournament, 2004 UK Championship winner Stephen Maguire features three times, including his truly jaw-dropping effort against Neil Robertson in the first round.

The Scotsman hit the cue ball with plenty of power and backspin, and after both the red and the white flew high off the table, both preceded to travel into two of the table’s corner pockets.

Champion Bingham, runner-up Carter and 2005 world champion Shaun Murphy all feature twice, with the former’s stunning effort to pot a red in his semi-final against David Gilbert helping him on his way to Sunday’s showpiece.

Elsewhere, 2017 Masters runner-up Joe Perry finished perfectly on the red after potting a yellow against Ding Junhui in round one, while four-time world champion John Higgins executed a perfect plant against Barry Hawkins.
